Michael McGlinchey

Midfielder
biography-icon Biography
Born in Wellington and raised in Scotland McGlinchey once turned down Manchester United in favour of staying with his boyhood club Celtic FC. After making his debut for the Celtic first team aged just 18, he went on loan to Dunfermline Athletic, then made the permanent shift to the Central Coast Mariners where he won both a premiership and a championship in over 100 games for the Gosford-based outfit. A short stint with Vegalta Sendai followed, before he eventually returned to his town of birth to join Phoenix. An age grade international with Scotland and full international with New Zealand with almost fifty caps to his name. Now into his fourth season with Wellington, the established midfielder will be a key cog in the midfield this coming season.
