Phoenix look to extend their record unbeaten streak by a team at a venue in the history of the Hyundai A-League.

The Phoenix are back in action! Get to Westpac Stadium on Friday and get vocal, as Wellington Phoenix launch their 2010/11 Hyundai A-League campaign by going for Gold.
Gold Coast United beware, Wellington Phoenix are a bit tasty at Westpac Stadium. Last season-s fine showing from the New Zealand side was built on a home record that goes way beyond solid.
They are looking to continue such form in Season 6, and on Friday will be aiming for their 20th consecutive undefeated match at Westpac Stadium in front of their passionate home support.
Phoenix already lay claim to the longest streak of undefeated games by a team at a venue in history of the Hyundai A-League, having long-since overtaken the previous run of 14 set by Sydney FC at the Sydney Football Stadium from October 2005 to October 2006.
Indeed, you have to go back to before the turn of the Millennium for the last time a side went more than 20 matches without losing at a venue in Australian national league history, when Sydney United managed an impressive 23 consecutive matches without defeat at Sydney United Sports Centre between 1996 and 1999.
Gold Coast United will be looking to lay to rest the ghost of their only previous visit to Westpac Stadium, which saw them on the wrong end of a 6-0 thrashing.
In fact, United drew a blank in front of goal in all three matches against Phoenix last season, picking up just a solitary point from a possible nine. However, following a hard-fought opening-week derby draw against Brisbane Roar, they will be looking to go one better and break their scoring duck against Phoenix in what is sure to be an exciting match-up.
