The Wellington Phoenix will face a change to their upcoming schedule, which will see Wellington’s Round 21 match moved from 28 February to 18 March.

Following last weekend’s postponement of the Sydney Derby between Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers due to torrential rain, Football Federation Australia (FFA) today announced that this match will now be played on Friday 28 February at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
To accommodate this fixture change, Sydney FC’s Round 21 match against the Wellington Phoenix will now instead be played on Wednesday 18 March at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium.
Wellington Phoenix General Manager, David Dome, says that after negotiation with FFA the club accepts the changes.
“This isn’t ideal for Wellington or Sydney but after discussions with all parties it was agreed this was the best solution for Wellington, Sydney and the League as a whole.
“We accept this decision and the challenges that it will bring for our club – but right now our focus is on winning our match versus Melbourne City tomorrow night at Eden Park.”
