Phoenix U-20 target hat-trick of wins in Hawke’s Bay

Wellington Phoenix U-20 are hoping to make it three wins on the spin this Sunday, when they travel to Hawke’s Bay United.

Head Coach Hedge is confident his team will avoid emulating their previous encounter with Hawkes Bay, which finished in a thrilling 5-5 draw, and build on not conceding this time around.

“The previous meeting it was blowing a gale right down the pitch, which really factored in the result [5-5],” Hedge said.

“I will be happy scoring five, but not conceding.”

The weather shouldn’t hinder the U-20’s like the previous encounter, which contributed to the unusually high scoring encounter.

“Hopefully it’s not the same as last year. Looks like the weather is not going to play a part” Hedge added.

The U-20’s have found form winning their last two games and are looking to build on those successes.

“We are really happy at the club how everything is going,” the Head Coach said.

“I’m not expecting too many changes this weekend.”
