WELLINGTON Phoenix FC and Export 33 have joined forces in a partnership that will see the Phoenix wear the logo of award-winning low-carb lager on the front of their playing shorts for three seasons, including the coming Hyundai A-League 2010/11 campaign.

WELLINGTON Phoenix FC and Export 33 have joined forces in a partnership that will see the Phoenix wear the logo of the award-winning low-carb lager on the front of their playing shorts for three seasons, including the coming Hyundai A-League 2010/11 campaign.

The partnership means Phoenix fans will also be able to enjoy Export 33 at all Phoenix home games at Westpac Stadium during what will be a massive 2010/11 season for the capital-based club – starting with the Phoenix-s gala-event match against Argentine superclub Boca Juniors at the stadium this Friday night.

Export 33 marketing manager Dave Shoemack said the brand was thrilled to be allied with the Phoenix for the coming three seasons.

“This partnership is a perfect fit for Export 33. Football has one of the highest participation rates in New Zealand across all ages and genders and the Phoenix is the country-s highest profile club.

“The popularity of football has exploded nationally since the Phoenix came on the scene three years ago and, of course, the success of the All Whites at the World Cup shows just how far football has come.

“That-s why we see this partnership as ideal. Like the Phoenix, Export 33 has quickly built an excellent reputation and is making great strides in popularity.”

Wellington Phoenix interim chief executive Nathan Greenham said both the Phoenix and Export 33 had enjoyed unprecedented success – the Phoenix almost making the grand final last season and Export 33 winning brewing awards in New Zealand and Belgium in the past year.

“So we-re ecstatic to have Export 33 join the Phoenix family and we-re looking forward to the club and Export 33 continuing to grow together to achieve much, much more.”
