Old cellphones can be put to good use this month as part of the Mojo Neonatal Trust Phone Appeal.
Wellington Phoenix defender Ben Sigmund and wife Deanna are at the forefront of the campaign, after son Cameron was born three months prematurely in 2010.
“It’s our way to help as best we can, to show our appreciation for pretty much saving our son’s life,” Sigmund says.
Cameron spent six months in Wellington Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit.
“It’s something really close to the heart,” Sigmund says. “At the end of the day, I want to see as many phones donated as possible.”
Phones can be dropped off at Mojo stores nationwide, The Roxy Cinema in Miramar, and all Jeff Grey BMW dealerships until the end of the month.
