Two stoppage time goals from Sarpreet Singh completed a remarkable comeback from Wellington Phoenix U-20 and sealed a 2-2 draw against Waitakere United at Trusts Arena in the Stirling Sports Premiership on Saturday.

The game didn’t start well for Phoenix U-20, with Waitakere taking the lead just after the quarter hour through Dan Morgan.

Wellington goalkeeper Oli Sail then kept the home side at bay with an excellent save from the penalty spot before the break.

Yet there was no stopping Waitakere from the spot in the final 10 minutes as Stefan Thelen converted to double the hosts’ lead.

Just as it seemed hope was lost for Phoenix U-20, Singh stepped up and scored from a direct free kick in the 89th minute to reduce the deficit.

Then in the fourth minute of stoppage time Singh danced through the opposition defence, rounded the goalkeeper and slotted in the equaliser to seal Phoenix U-20 a 2-2 away draw.
