New Zealand Football and Wellington Phoenix confirmed on Thursday that the loan deal for Alex Jones from Birmingham City to Wellington Phoenix has yet to be cleared by FIFA.
The loan transfer was entered into FIFA’s TMS system last weekend but the online process was not able to be completed in time for Jones to be registered prior to the closure of the A-League registration window.
NZF are working with FIFA, FFA and OFC to secure the necessary clearance.
No further comment will be made until a formal response is received from FIFA on this matter.
