The Wellington Phoenix have confirmed today that their star striker, Gary Hooper, will not be taking the field versus Melbourne Victory tonight at AAMI Stadium.
Hooper suffered a minor quad strain during training, with the Wellington Phoenix withdrawing him from the match day squad as a precaution.
Young Wellington Phoenix Academy Midfielder, Sam Sutton has taken his spot in the match day squad.
It is expected that Hooper will be available to return in time for the R7 match versus Brisbane Roar at Westpac Stadium on 23rd November.
