Venue tour ahead of international football clash at Forsyth Barr Stadium

Forsyth Barr Stadium will host representatives from Newcastle United and Wellington Phoenix for a tour of the stadium today, Tuesday 20 May, ahead of the clash under the roof on July 22 between Newcastle United and Sydney FC. The match is one of four exhibition matches as part of the Football United Tour involving Newcastle United, Sydney FC, West Ham United and Wellington Phoenix.

Tickets on Sale Wednesday 21 May

Tickets to this international fixture will be available to the public from 9am on Wednesday 21 May and a crowd of 15,000 is eagerly anticipated.

Interest from fans all around New Zealand and Australia has been high and there will be dedicated Supporters- Zones for Newcastle United and Sydney FC fans alike.

Football South has been encouraging local clubs to be a part of the action with their own Club Zone in the TicketDirect Stand with teams dressing up in their club colours for the occasion and the added bonus of having a prize for the best dressed club. There will be two curtain raisers played simultaneously involving 12th Grade teams from local clubs who will then be part of the honour guard as these high profile teams run on to the pitch.

Football South General Manager, Bill Chisholm is pleased with the interest already shown from local clubs and is looking forward to the visual impact that the Club Zone will have, not to mention the noise!

Get your tickets from Ticket Direct from 9am Wednesday 21 May.
